Agreement to These Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using Safa, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What Safa Provides
Safa is a prayer and Quran companion app. It provides prayer times, Sunrise information, Qibla direction, Quran reading, ayah finding, prayer reminders, prayer tracking, streaks, onboarding personalization, and related settings.
Safa is independently developed and operated by Khamid Kholmatov.
Safa is intended as a helpful lifestyle and religious practice tool. It is not a replacement for your local mosque, scholar, religious authority, or personal judgment.
Prayer Times and Qibla
Prayer times and Qibla direction depend on your selected location, calculation method, Asr madhhab, device settings, network availability, and third-party data. We work to make these features accurate, but we cannot guarantee that every time, direction, or calculation will match every local authority or personal practice.
You are responsible for reviewing your settings and confirming important prayer-time decisions with a trusted local source when accuracy is critical.
Your Account
You may use Google or Apple sign-in to create and access your Safa account. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in provider secure and for ensuring the profile information you provide is accurate.
If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, contact us through Safa Telegram support.
Your Data and Settings
Safa may store account details, profile information, prayer logs, goals, notification preferences, location settings, theme settings, and other app preferences. Our handling of this information is described in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for the prayer statuses you mark in the app. Safa may mark earlier unmarked prayers as missed based on the app’s tracking rules, but you can edit recent history where the app allows it.
Permissions
Some Safa features require permission from your device:
- Location permission for current-location prayer times and Qibla direction.
- Notification permission for prayer reminders.
- Microphone and speech recognition permission for the ayah finder.
You can decline or revoke these permissions in iOS Settings, but some features may not work without them.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse Safa or its services. This includes attempting to disrupt the app, bypass security controls, scrape or overload services, reverse engineer parts of the app where prohibited by law, upload unlawful content, impersonate others, or use Safa in a way that harms other users or service providers.
Third-Party Services
Safa relies on third-party services including Supabase, Apple, Google, Aladhan, and Al-Quran Cloud. These services may have their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, changes, or data accuracy, but we choose providers that support the app’s core functionality.
Intellectual Property
Safa, including its design, branding, interface, animations, text, and original app content, is owned by Safa or its licensors. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes as allowed by these terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from Safa without permission, except where permitted by law.
Quran text, translations, transliterations, prayer-time data, and provider APIs may be subject to separate rights, licenses, and provider terms.
Payments and App Store Terms
Safa is currently intended to be distributed through Apple’s App Store. If paid features, subscriptions, or in-app purchases are introduced, purchases will be handled through Apple and may be subject to Apple’s terms, payment rules, refund rules, and subscription settings.
Service Changes
We may update, improve, remove, suspend, or discontinue parts of Safa at any time. We may also fix bugs, change designs, add features, or adjust how prayer tracking, streaks, reminders, and other features behave.
Termination
You may stop using Safa at any time. You can initiate account deletion directly in the app from Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you have violated these terms, created risk for the app or other users, or used the service unlawfully.
Disclaimers
Safa is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, and error-free performance.
We do not guarantee that prayer times, Qibla direction, Quran search results, reminders, streak calculations, translations, or third-party data will always be accurate, available, or suitable for every circumstance.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Safa and its owners, developers, partners, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or religious practice decisions arising from use of the app.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Applicable Law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to the app operator, unless local consumer protection laws require otherwise. If you are launching through a registered company, update this section to name the company’s jurisdiction before publishing.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use as Safa changes. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app or on this website. Continued use of Safa after changes means you accept the updated terms.
